This is of a very Pagan feel, so if you don't like this sort of thing, stop reading now.
Ok. I gave warning, so here goes.
After getting my husband to concede that the new Starfire sword is indeed mine, he taught me how to thoroughly connect with it and how to understand what it wants. In doing so, I was given a lot of energy (it's almost 2 am now). So, after he fell asleep, I discover I really can't sleep at all. So I get up to take a bath. No big. As I get finished with my bath my brain made an odd connection between two religious trinities (Christian and Pagan). Here's how they work and why the order doesn't get switched:
Father for the Maiden
Son for the Mother
Ghost for the Crone
It made far too much sense for me to leave it alone so I went and did a little research to see what other connections I could make. Guess what. I made more.
While I was working tonight a customer came in and we started talking about Khemeticism (Egyptian Path). He referred to the Egyptian pantheon while I attempted to figure out the Celtic equivalent. (This is relevant, I promise.) Well, I decided to do a little bit more research on my two deities, Manannan and Brigid. Manannan does the same thing that Anubis does, and Brigid overlaps a lot with Isis. No big deal right? Wrong. I have friends who are a Priestess and Priest of the two. I thought it was interesting that I got along with both of them fairly well. The difficulties I had with one mirrored my difficulties with the deity that corresponded closest to them. It's no wonder we had these problems. Of course, people wonder how he puts up with her sometimes, but I don't. They balance each other, very well. I can only hope that my husband and I work the same way (with a few tweaks on my part).
Thanks for reading.
